Dean has been acting and performing since early childhood. After moving to Atlanta in 1994, he enrolled in the Warehouse Actors Theatre (WHAT), a school for professional actors, where he wrote, directed, and acted in dozens of original works.

He has acted in scores of commercials and industrial films, as well as live theatre and performances. He has also performed in hundreds of independent films, murder mysteries, live comedy shows and as a featured celebrity impersonator. Trademark characters include Elvis Presley, Elwood Blues (with partner Jake) of the Blues Brothers, and Donald Trump.

Corporate theatre and industrial films are a specialty for Dean. Clients include Coca-Cola, Diageo-Guinness, McDonald’s, Kimberly-Clark, Georgia Pacific, UPS, MCI WorldCom, Equifax, The Home Depot, Delta, AT&T, Bellsouth, IBM, Coors Brewing Company, Ocean Spray, Zoo Atlanta, and he was the official Elvis of the 1998 Dr. Laura Schlessinger’s 50th Birthday Bash.

Commercial credits include principal roles in regional and national commercials for TNT, TBS, Turner Classic Movies, Shoney’s, World Championship Wrestling, Kroger Supermarkets, Georgia Lottery (he’s Fred, the "Soapy, Soapy, Soap" guy), Parmalat Milk, Mean Green Super Strength Cleaner, and O’Charley’s Restaurants. He made history as the first actor in a local commercial for Toshiba and Hi-Fi Buys filmed entirely in High Definition.

Independent films include the award-winning feature "We Three Kings" (which he also directed and wrote), "Wine and Spirits," "The Third Wheel" for Florida State University, "What Are the Odds?" and the award-winning short, "Can Do!" for Georgia State University. Dean can currently be seen portraying William Fuller in "The Great Locomotive Chase" featured at the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Dean was the founder and key facilitator of Actors Helping Actors (AHA!), a network/support group for professional actors and artists.
